Dr. James Bean announces retirement

We want to inform you that Dr. Bean will be retiring from Dimmit Regional Hospital, with his last day in clinic being Wednesday, June 3, 2026. This notice is being shared in advance so that all departments can prepare for a smooth and respectful transition of care of our patients.

Dr. Bean joined our team a little over two years ago and made a significant impact in a short period of time by expanding access to specialized care for our community. We are grateful for his clinical contributions and the standard of care he modeled for our team.

Orthopedic services after June 5, 2026

Orthopedic services at Dimmit Regional Hospital will not continue following Dr. Bean's retirement. Patients requiring ongoing orthopedic care will need to be referred to outside providers.

The nearest orthopedic resources are available in San Antonio, Uvalde and Laredo.
