Licensed Vocational Nurse/OR Tech
Location: Texas
Dimmit Regional Hospital is located in South Texas in the city of Carrizo Springs, County of Dimmit. DRH is a 24 bed licensed critical access hospital.
Job Summary:
Assists surgeon and surgical team during operative and invasive procedures. Prepares patients, rooms and equipment for pending surgical procedures. Assist during those procedures as part of a team of operating room professionals. Assists in nursing care activities for patients of all ages, and other services in the operating room as directed and according to departmental policies. Performs “scrub” and nursing services duties appropriate and authorized by the situation. Duties involve in cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing supplies and equivalent and makes deliveries to users as directed. Cleans and sterilizes all surgical instruments. Able to take on-call on a rotating basis. Supervised by the Operating Room Supervisor.
Position Requirements:
●High School Diploma or GED required.
●Certified Surgical Technician required or Licensed Vocational Nurse currently licensed in Texas.
●Current BLS for healthcare provider’s certification and NRP required.
●Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in the Operating Room required.
●Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages desirable.
●Basic computer knowledge required.
