Chargemaster - Business Office
Job Summary:

The Chargemaster Analyst is responsible for the maintenance, accuracy, and compliance of the hospital or healthcare system’s Charge Description Master (CDM). This role ensures that all charges are aligned with regulatory requirements, payer guidelines, and organizational pricing strategies to optimize reimbursement and reduce compliance risk.

Essential Responsibilities of the Position:

• Maintain and update the Charge Description Master (CDM) to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
• Review and validate CPT/HCPCS coding, revenue codes, and charge capture processes
• Monitor and implement updates related to CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer requirements
• Conduct routine CDM audits to identify pricing discrepancies and compliance risks
• Collaborate with clinical departments, billing, coding, and finance teams to ensure accurate charge capture
• Analyze reimbursement trends and identify revenue opportunities
• Assist with annual pricing reviews and system charge updates
• Support internal and external audits
• Maintain documentation for CDM policies and procedures
• Generate detailed financial and operational reports for leadership
• All other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 2–5+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, chargemaster, or revenue integrity
• Strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, MS-DRGs, and revenue codes
• Understanding of Medicare OPPS/IPPS regulations and payer reimbursement methodologies
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (required) — including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query, complex formulas, data analysis, and reporting
• Experience with hospital billing systems and EMR platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Job requirements include but are not limited to: sedentary work that primarily involves sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, squatting, reaching and lifting objects up to 25 pounds. Requires good finger dexterity, repetitive motions with hands and fingers. Requires ability to have good vision and hearing. Pushing and pulling equipment may be necessary.
• Job requires medium lifting on an occasional basis.
