Certified Medical Assistant (Specialty Clinic) - Specialty Clinic
Job Summary:
Performs routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the clinic running smoothly under the clinical direction of Physician/Nurse Practitioner. Prepares patients for health care visit by directing or accompanying them to the examining room providing examination gowns and drapes; helping them to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment; arranging examining room instruments, supplies and equipment. Assists with receiving, processing, scheduling and following up on all medical referral requests, including in-house and outside referrals for diagnostic testing, medical specialists, or other providers. Responsible for obtaining prior authorization needed for testing or services.
Supervised by the Nursing Supervisor.
Professional Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of Certified Medical Assistant program.
• Current BLS for healthcare professionals required upon hired.
• Minimum of six months to one year of related work experience.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Additional languages preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge
